Our cooking school offers classes to suit all levels of
cooking & are catergorised accordingly;
TALK & TASTE
(short discussion classes)

Our established ‘Talk & Taste’ classes are a great way to meet new people, have a chat & learn about food & wine along the way. The topics for these classes are ‘food & wine pairing’ & ‘cheese & wine pairing’, as well as the occasional themed class, think ‘Bastille Day’ - French food & wine pairing. These classes are only conversational, no hand-on. We talk & taste 5 drinks & 5 canapes. The classes run for 90-120 minutes and are limited to 10 people only. Ideal for pairs, small groups or individuals.
Price $60 per person for the cheese & wine / $70 per person for the food & wine pairing (may vary according to the subject)
FUN WITH FRIENDS

Our Conlan’s standard cooking class is a 3-4 hours hands-on cooking class for a maximum of 10 guests, which covers a broad range of recipes & techniques. There is an opportunity for you to see each & every step of all recipes while working on different dishes at the same time. The standard cooking classes are interactive, chatty & fun. The class includes lunch or dinner (depending on the time of class) a glass of wine & a recipe booklet. Ideal for pairs, or small groups, but also fun for solo attendees - Price $140 per person. The standard cooking class also has an option to invite a friend or partner to join you for lunch/dinner at the conclusion of the class. Your guest will enjoy a glass of wine & an hour long meal with the cooking class group & enjoy all of the dishes you have created. Ticket for a guest meal & a wine is $65 per person.
MASTER SERIES

A step up for a slightly more serious amateur cooks. These classes run for 5-6 hours (most of the day) & cover less topics, but offer a more in-depth level of techniques. Each participant will do every step of each recipe. Numbers are restricted to a maximum of 6 per class. The day includes hands on preparation & cooking, as well as plating & garnishing tips. Theory is also discussed. Dinner & a glass of wine will also be provided, & there will be a chance to take some goodies from the class - Price $200 per person.
THE WEEKENDER
~
Emerse yourself in the delicous local produce of South West Victorian while enjoying a two-day cooking course. If you are looking for a fun filled two days away with family or friends, or team building with colleagues this class is a wonderful way to learn some useful cooking tips, visit stunning Port Fairy & have a break from your daily routine.
In this class you will work collaboratively in small groups to prepare receipes & also independently on some receipes. We’ll cover abroad range of recipes, which will be based on the season of the class.
Limited to 6 participants per class
Sample itinerary:
DAY 1
Arrive at Conlan’s Wine Store at 10am
Meet & greet while enjoying a coffee in the wine room
Cooking until 12:00pm, stop of lunch in the wine room & a glass of wine
Resume cooking from 1pm-4pm preparing for dinner class
Back to accommodation for a rest & freshen up
Return at 5:30pm for a cocktail making class
6:00pm sit down in the wine room for a “Talk & taste” dinner, which includes a 5 course food & wine pairing dinner.
Day concludes at 8:00pm
DAY 2
Conlan’s Wine Store chef will pick guests up from accommodation at 8:30am
Guests stop for coffee at a local roaster and head to local producers for a tour & tastings (Merri Banks vegetable farm, Jane Dough bakery, Noodledoof, Tower Hill)
11:30am travel back to Conlan’s Wine Store with our goods collected on the tour then head back into the kitchen and prepare for a late lunch buffet.
2:00pm Sit down & enjoy lunch and a glass of wine
Day concludes at 3:30pm
